MidAir Action

Birds in action

The Western gulls that fly over the ferries in SanFrancisco are one amazing bunch. They chase the ferry like an invasion. All you can see from the back of the ferry are these invading birds. They do this because people throw fries for them. And they catch them in mid air. It is a wonderful sight. It should added as a part of attractions you get to see when take the ferry ride.

Trivia: The automating of the lighthouses, and the closing of Alcatraz Prison, allowed the species to reclaim parts of its range. They are currently vulnerable to climatic events like El Niño events and oil spills.
